tonight i was called on to teach 1 round of Sun Salutation B to our class. my heart was pounding so hard at first. as we began to practice, i remembered to let my breath take over and some how the words flowed right out. yoga is teaching me who i am, who i want to be, and how my body works. it is a wonderful reminder to us all: we are perfect just the way we are right now :) and that is how i felt as i was teaching Sun Salutation B. i may have missed a couple of words, but deep down i know i gave my best effort and am proud of all of the studying and practice i have done.
i had never even heard of Ashtanga Yoga until about 7 weeks ago. since then, it is has found a dear place in my heart. Short Form Ashtanga (SFA) is such an invigorating and special practice. my heart is opening, my brain is moving, and i still have so much to learn. the past 5 weeks of Yoga Life Style/Teacher Training at Red Lotus Yoga in Rochester Hills, MI have been absolutely fantastic. i am truly enjoying the journey, challenges, successes, and knowledge. the people are honest, real, and becoming like a family to me.
i am sad that i will have to end teacher training on june 16, but my heart tells me i need to take the summer off to travel, relax, rejuvenate, and spend time with my husband. i am confident i will start the training program up again on september 14 and continue this journey :)
there are many yoga studios in the metro-detroit area... i highly suggest checking them out. usually the 1st week is free :) many city recreation centers and gyms (like life time and LA fitness) also offer yoga classes.
there is no right or wrong class, just one that you enjoy.
here are some of the books i have been studying.
enjoy! peace, love, and namaste.
