as the seasons change i am really trying to slow down and enjoy every minute with my boy. he is growing way too fast... i swear he will be crawling for real in a few weeks... he is soooo close right now :) this morning i did some art journaling to reflect on what i would like to do this fall and to remember the highlights of our first summer as parents. my art journals are nothing special, but i hang them up and look at them daily.
i already took Park to the zoo today and we had lots of fun :) i can't wait to hike, go north, and explore the new season with my boys.... i love spending every day with my son and i couldn't be happier :) here are some of my fave art journaling sites: daisy yellow art journaling as a creative process art journal toolkit art journal podcast

This whole new mommy thing has just turned my world upside down... and I thought being pregnant was "tough" :) So I am trying to get myself back on the blogging train. I don't have much me time, but need an easy creative outlet to get my wheels turning. Here are 2 of my fave discoveries. I found them months ago, but use them just about daily. I will keep it short and sweet. Yay, I am back on the blog train! Enjoy :)
Hard to believe we are in the last days of August. I am so grateful for the time off this summer to relax and unwind. I really feel recharged and energized for the new school year. The past few months have brought oodles of "delightful discovieries". Here are some of my faves :) Enjoy! xoxo Michelle Baby Reckling is on the way! I can't believe I was able to keep this a secret on here this long. Baby Reck already rules all I do and think about :). Figured I might as well tell the world before I show up at work next week with a belly bump. Due date is February 5th and if you can't tell I am glowing and excited! So far everything is going well and I am actually getting my energy back... just in time to go back to work. We have already cleared out a room and I started sewing curtains. We aren't gonna find out the sex so I will have to be creative with my decorating :) . Art Journaling I have spent a good amount of time art journaling this summer. I will share more of my journals later... I can't wait to share this concept with my student and fellow teachers once school starts. Here are a few of my favorite quotes I have made into little colorful reminders. I think I am going to create some kind of frame or way to hang them so they are in clear view for me to read daily. ![]() Slow summer reading. Took me a while to finish The Help, but I finally did and it was fantastic! This was the first book I read on my Ipad and I really enjoyed the highlighting and bookmark features. Funny thing is I didn't have a clue the movie was about to come out...now can't wait to see it! Maybe I will wait and download it to the Ipad as well? Just downloaded The Happiness Project... already on Chapter 2. Love it so far and plan to apply these concepts to the new school year. I will post my plan soon. |
