Have a great weekend and enjoy your day off on Monday :)
Journal Topic #2 = How did the Chapter 2 Test go? Make a +/- list and asses your study habits. What are 3 things you are grateful for today? :)
We did an exensive solving review in class today using white boards.
It is attached below. You will be taking a Chapter 3 Moodle Practice Quiz on Tuesday (no school on Monday).
Journal Topic #1 - What do you like about RHS so far? What don't you like.
Most students took their Chapter 2 Test today in their Algebra 1 class.
We will be starting Chapter 3: Solving Equations today in Math Lab.
Check out all of the great resources for you to use on our class Moodle site.
FYI: Progress Reports happen NEXT WEEK!
We reviewed specific topics from Chapter 2 that I have seen students
- What are whole numbers, integers, rational numbers and irrational numbers?
- How to calculate perimeter and area of rectangles using algebraic expressions
- What do the problems will I be allowed to use a calculator on my test look like?
- How to distribute negative 1: Example: 4x - (3x + 1) = x - 1
- Dividing Fractions: Keep it, Change it, Flip it
- What is the multiplicative inverse of a number? (Same thing as the reciprocal)
- What is the opposite of a number? If x = 2, then -x = -2
- What is the absolute value of a number?
GOOD LUCK STUDYING! DON'T FORGET YOUR CALCULATOR!
As we settle into fall you need to settle into studying for your Chapter 2 Test! Test is on Wednesday!
Don't forget you can go practice more on our
class Moodle site.
We will review in class on Tuesday and Wednesday, but will also begin to preview Chapter 3.
Happy Homecoming Weekend! Be safe and have fun!
Probably a good idea to start studying for your CHAPTER 2 TEST. Remember... you don't necessarily have to study for hours. 20 minutes here and there makes a huge difference!
Most of you will have your Chapter 2 Test next Wednesday (9/28).
We will review for it in class on Monday and Tuesday.
Have a great weekend
Enjoy the last day of Summer...tomorrow is the first day of Autumn!
Great Powerpoint review in class today :)
Here it is if you want more practice at home.
Great questions on the Chapter 2 Practice Moodle Quiz today!
Note: You should have completed the entire assignment and gone over the ones you got wrong. You cannot receive credit for Math Lab if you do not put effort into and complete the assignments.
Hope you enjoyed Superhero Day :)
The SAT/ACT Chapter 2 Practice Test we did in class today was a bit challenging, but remember... we are trying to find out what you DON'T KNOW so we can work on it. Tomorrow we will do more practice on Moodle in the computer lab. See you there!
I was out a funeral today :(
Hope you were productive (at least a little) while I was gone. Tomorow we will go over the Multiple Choice and start setting goals. Of course I will help you with your homework too. I believe you have a Chapter 2 Quiz this week! Happy Homecoming Week 2011!
Five frogs are sitting on a log. Four decide to jump off. How many are left? Answer: five. Why? Because there's a difference between deciding and doing. ~Mark L. Feldman & Michael F. Spratt
